When my journey of volunteering began in the summer of 2018 during a visit to India, I was still in elementary school. What started as curiosity quickly turned into purpose when I visited an ActionAid community center and saw children from marginalized communities eager to learn but lacking basic resources. That moment shaped my commitment to India — a commitment that has grown stronger every year through education initiatives, disaster relief, and community empowerment.

🛠️ Key Highlights of Our Work

• Education & Youth Empowerment (2018–2019): Partnered with ActionAid India to work with underprivileged students, focusing on trust-building, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to keep children engaged in positive learning environments.

• School-Based Fundraising for India (2018–2019): Organized multiple fundraisers in elementary school selling keychains, stationery, and handmade items to support disaster-affected communities across India.

• Flood & Cyclone Relief (2018–2020): Raised funds for flood-affected regions including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar, and cyclone-affected communities across India.

• COVID-19 Emergency Support (2020–2021): Donated all personal savings to ActionAid India to help purchase an oxygen concentrator during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis, supporting lifesaving medical care.

• Northeast India Flood Relief (2022): Supported ActionAid India’s emergency response for devastating floods that caused loss of lives and property across Northeast India.

• Monsoon Flood & Landslide Relief (2023–2024): Led online fundraisers to support families affected by severe monsoon floods and landslides across multiple Indian states, including Wayanad (Kerala).

💖 Stories of Resilience

One of the most defining moments of my life was watching children at the ActionAid center transform over time — from being hesitant and unsure to confident, expressive, and hopeful. Through structured activities and consistent engagement, they discovered their strengths and learned the power of teamwork and self-belief.

During the COVID-19 crisis, knowing that an oxygen concentrator purchased through my donation could save lives reinforced a powerful lesson — that even small acts, when driven by empathy, can create enormous impact.

In flood-affected regions of India, families who lost homes and livelihoods showed remarkable resilience. Despite the devastation, their determination to rebuild reminded me why sustained support matters long after headlines fade.
